The Upcoming Smartphones Of 2020
With the smartphone evolution moving real fast, there’s always something waiting on the line. Here, let’s take a look at those phones that haven’t yet released but are coming this 2020.
Motorola Moto Edge & Edge+
Motorola is planning to launch a new phone under the name Edge. They release two versions of this phone, the Edge and the Edge+, with the Edge running Snapdragon 765 and the Edge+ offering the Snapdragon 865. These two versions have a 6.67-inch display, a similar design, and a comprehensive camera system on the rear, with the Edge+ offering a 108-megapixel main sensor, while the Edge gets a 64-megapixel sensor. We’re expecting these phones to be announced on April 22.
LG G9 ThinQ
The standout feature for the LG G9 seems to be its camera system on the back of the phone. The display is around 6.6 inches, and the overall design looks a lot like the LG G8, except for the rear camera. That looks like the focus for LG, expanding the camera performance on this mobile. This phone had been expected at Mobile World Congress: We’ve since seen the launch of the LG V60, but the G9 remains missing, with new rumors implying it might become a sub-flagship model using the Snapdragon 765G.
OnePlus 8 Lite/OnePlus Z
OnePlus is going to propose a less expensive phone of its own, which might be called the OnePlus Z or OnePlus 8 Lite. This phone might make a few compromises and sit on MediaTek hardware, but may offer a more affordable entry point to OnePlus’ devices. It didn’t launch with the OnePlus 8 models, so it will probably be out in the middle of 2020.
Google Pixel 4a
Google’s inexpensive handset provides access to the Google camera, but only on a phone that’s affordable. It looks like they are offering a Pixel 4a to please those on a tighter budget, along with a 3.5mm headphone socket, a punch-hole front camera, and a single camera on the back. We’re anticipating to see it launch around May 2020.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2/Galaxy Z Fold 2
According to some rumors, Samsung will be updating the Fold with a brand-new generation of phones. It’s assumed that this will be a flagship-grade phone, perhaps getting the 108-megapixel camera from the S20 Ultra, Snapdragon 865 with 5G – perhaps S Pen support. We speculate it will also have the ultra-thin glass of the Galaxy Z Flip.
Apple iPhone 12 and iPhone 5G
With the iPhone 11 series launched and soon out of the way, the question over 5G remains. Apple didn’t launch a 5G phone in 2019, but long before the iPhone 11 surfaced, rumors said about the iPhone 12. There’s talk of a no notch, new squarer design, 5G, and OLED displays for all of its three models.
Nokia 9.3 PureView
Nokia wants to update its Nokia 9 but, to make it on Snapdragon 865, it’s going to wait a little longer until later in 2020, most likely in August. That’s probably because of the effort required to get the camera system working on the new hardware.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is anticipated to take the 120Hz display of the S20 series. The camera of the S20+, and offer a new phone with S Pen powers. We’re assuming two sizes, like Note 10, and launch sometime in August 2020, and the rumors are saying that the Note 20’s the only difference to the S20 will be the S Pen.
